Teresa R. Allen lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Teresa holds a
bachelor of Arts degree from Lyons College and a Master of Social Work from the
University of Missouri-Columbia. Teresa has enjoyed writing stories and
poems since she was 14 years old.
Teresa's first poem was published at the age of 17 in the Mammoth Spring Park
Guide, entitled "Mammoth Spring". She has had several poems
published in the Thayer, Missouri, newspaper and in the Lyons College yearbook.
The Adventures of Laura, the Bichon Frise
is her first
children's book. Teresa has a great commitment to protecting the rights of
animals, and educating children about the feelings of animals and how they often
resemble our own. When Teresa is not writing, she works full-time as a
home care clinical social worker. Practicing social work has facilitated
her understanding of and compassion for the struggles we all face. Teresa
firmly believes that when we ask for and receive enlightened help and guidance,
there is nothing we cannot overcome.
